Try the Kiwiub at Charming Creek bed & breakfast on the West Coast
Okay, you can't see the tub well in the photo. That's because it's
secluded, on an acre running down to the waves on the West Coast
between Westport and Karamea. Gay Sweeney runs her B&B at the coast
end of the Charming Creek walkway. Her website is
www.bullerbeachstay.co.nz Or Freephone 0800 To Relax (0800 867
3529).
Look, just go there. It's that stunning, and Gay's that nice. Take
the Wild Romance package with gourmet food, champagne, and the Kiwitub
fired up on driftwood at sunset, or face up to being dead.
B&B and farmstay owners take note: since the Kiwitub arrived a year
ago, over half the people booking in are now asking for the clean water
hot tub, no chemicals, no-one else has been in the water. This
includes those flying directly down from Auckland to this little part
of the West Coast. Gay's now getting winter bookings for the first
time - and three marriage proposals have been made and accepted in the
tub. (We don't have any data on less formal suggestions.) It is a
serious attraction for tourists - ask Gay.
